Diego Romero is a biologist and marine conservation project coordinator at Fundación por las Caguamas, based in Guadalajara, Mexico. He currently collaborates with eight turtle camps located in the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific, strengthening alliances with local communities, environmental authorities, and academic institutions. His work focuses on the protection of all sea turtle species nesting in Mexico, with a special focus on the leatherback and olive ridley turtles. He integrates science, environmental education, and sustainability strategies to promote effective conservation. He is also actively involved in the 1000 Caguamas initiative, promoting responsible practices in the restaurant industry.
