Carmen’s work in conservation started in 2017 as a volunteer for a Hawksbill conservation project at FFI, and she officially joined the team in 2018. She has experience in the conservation of species such as E. imbricata, D. coriacea, L. olivacea, and C. mydas. In 2020, she became Responsible for Environmental Education and Behavior Change.

The Eastern Pacific Leatherback Turtle Conservation Network started in 2012 when over thirty researchers, NGOs, and regional experts came together to develop an action plan to stabilize and restore the leatherback turtle population in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
