Mariela Pajuelo

A Peruvian Biologist. Her work has focused on studying the feeding ecology of sea turtles; and the impact of fisheries on endangered marine animal populations. Mariela is currently a Scientific Assistant at the Florida Museum of Natural History located at the University of Florida; there, she continues her research on marine species conservation and promotes scientific dissemination for scholars and the general public.

The Eastern Pacific Leatherback Turtle Conservation Network started in 2012 when over thirty researchers, NGOs, and regional experts came together to develop an action plan to stabilize and restore the leatherback turtle population in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
